Reading the chart

The chart shows one bar for each financial year, from this one to the end of the plan. Its views show the same projection different ways: Net position, Assets, Debt, Income & expenses, Cash flow, Super vs outside, Liquidity and, on Plus, Tax.

Open a year

Click a bar to open that year: its balances, where the money came from and went, its tax, and what changed. Anything you add while a year is open starts in that year.

Today’s dollars

Figures are shown in today’s dollars unless you switch them, so an amount in 2045 reads as what it would buy now. Switch to the dollars of each year to see the amounts as they will be written.

When the money runs out

A year the plan can’t pay for is drawn below zero and shaded red, and a note above the chart names the first short year and how much is missing. It stays until the plan pays its way, whether by changing a figure, a milestone or the order savings are drawn on.

The assumptions strip above the chart (investment return, inflation, property growth) changes the whole plan at once.
